Our "Year Zero" program provides an excellent introduction to university studies in England, whether at De Montfort University or another university in the United Kingdom. It is a transitional year during which you will already earn credits.
The educational project of the international section of De Montfort University revolves around four elements:
WELCOME: You will learn all about life in the United Kingdom, the history of Leicester, and De Montfort University.
MATHEMATICS & IT: Learn the basics of computer skills (spreadsheet, word processing, social media, and virtual learning environment).
COMMUNICATION: Develop skills in giving presentations, writing reports, completing various practical projects, and enjoying teamwork - all the necessary skills for university studies.
ENGLISH FOR ACADEMIC PURPOSES: As an international student, it is essential for you to communicate in English and understand your courses. Trainers will ensure that you have achieved the required level.
Art and Design, Business and Law, Engineering and Computing, Media, Life Sciences, and Pharmacy. In addition to these core courses, there are common modules for all pathways, such as English, communication, mathematics, etc.
As an integral part of De Montfort University (DMU), Leicester International Pathway College (LIPC) specializes in training international students who wish to study for one or more years at a British university.
Located in a splendid modern and historical setting, the university welcomes over 22,000 students each year. The city center campus provides easy access to various attractions.
The Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Leisure Center offers students unique sports facilities. A membership fee is required, and you will have access to numerous activities, including swimming pool, sauna, climbing wall, fitness equipment, gymnasium, etc. As a DMU student, you can enjoy these facilities upon arrival. Additionally, with over 80 clubs and a Social Center for students, there will be plenty of opportunities to make new connections among local and international students!
