AILS Academic Program in Santa Barbara

Located on the west coast of the United States, approximately 150 kilometers north of Los Angeles, Santa Barbara is a city known for its quality of life. Just steps away from golden sandy beaches, magnificent buildings with colonial architecture blend with upscale villas and yachts in the marina, all under the shade of palm trees.

1st Semester: English Courses at Kaplan Language School

The English school is located in the city center, near the famous State Street with its shops and terraces, as well as the beaches. You will follow a program of 35 lessons of 45 minutes per week, including 7 supervised individual work sessions and 8 elective classes. During your semester, you will be assessed, tested, and required to achieve the "advanced" level at Kaplan School to be eligible for university enrollment.

2nd Semester: Immersion at Santa Barbara City College

Conveniently located just steps away from the beach and downtown, Santa Barbara City College was founded in 1909. In addition to its dreamlike setting, the university's 13,000 students benefit from numerous programs offered by the institution, known for the quality of its education.

Areas of Study

Art, Business, Computer Sciences, Languages, Film, Media, Journalism... The choices are vast! You will need to choose 12 credits from the available courses at the university. With numerous sports fields (basketball, football, tennis...), a variety of facilities, diverse clubs, and the multitude of events organized on campus, students have plenty of activities during their studies!

Be 18 years old at the time of university enrollment
Have an advanced level of English
Be at least 18 years old to reside on campus
