Linguistic stays for teenagers and children: What supervision?

For its linguistic stays for children and teenagers, AILS pays special attention to ensuring the best conditions for supervising the young people entrusted to them.

Being parents themselves, the founders of AILS are very sensitive to this issue and only collaborate with on-site establishments that guarantee the best supervision and surveillance conditions.

AILS advisors are all specially trained to meet the specific needs of linguistic stays for children and teenagers. Their support extends beyond the departure of the young person and continues throughout their stay until they return home.

During the stay, AILS advisors regularly check in with the young person and ensure that everything is going as planned. They also visit the location to assess and monitor the educational facilities, accommodations, and supervisory staff, both teaching and non-teaching.

Throughout your child's stay, you have access to a 24/7 contact phone number that allows you to reach a supervisor or your child at any time.

In practice, during language classes, children and teenagers are constantly supervised by teachers. After classes, they are taken care of by monitors who accompany them to meals or activities. If free time is scheduled, it usually takes place on campus, always under the supervision of monitors.

Older teenagers may be allowed to spend leisure time together, either on campus or during shopping trips or walks in town. However, supervisors remain nearby and meet the young people at predetermined meeting points and schedules.

At night, monitors ensure the supervision of young people in residences. For those staying with host families, the usual family rules apply. These rules are established by parents in collaboration with the language school officials. Host families are selected based on strict criteria, including living conditions, ability to take care of children, and moral character. They have specific approval and are regularly visited by school officials, with whom they maintain constant communication during the young person's presence in their home.

Finally, all activities organized by the school are constantly supervised by qualified monitors.
