During their language stay in Malta, teenagers have the opportunity to explore the countless natural treasures that the island has to offer and enjoy a particularly idyllic seaside resort during their free time. On the first Monday of the stay, a Welcome Party is organized to allow the young participants to get to know each other and meet all the staff members. Each day, the staff offers a variety of activities for the teenagers to choose from, including swimming, games, local tours, boat trips, shopping in Sliema, or simply relaxing on the beach. The supervision team is available 24/7 to ensure the safety and well-being of the participants. Optional excursions, subject to an additional fee, can also be arranged on-site.
The IELS school program offers a perfect combination of study and leisure. Classes are taught in groups of maximum 15 students by passionate teachers who provide personalized attention to each student. The teachers are trained to speak with a clear accent to facilitate understanding for everyone. IELS has created its own educational material specifically designed for juniors to give them all the necessary tools to learn English during the classes and throughout the rest of the program. Upon arrival, students are assessed and placed in the appropriate class according to their level. A course completion certificate is awarded at the end of the stay. English classes are held in the morning, and afternoons and evenings are dedicated to leisure activities (such as visiting Valletta, going to the cinema, beach outings, shopping, karaoke/sports/foam parties, etc.). Weekends are reserved for activities, free time, and optional excursions.
IELS offers three accommodation options with full board: host families, Bugibba residence, and City Bay residence.
In host families, teenagers are accommodated within a short distance from the school in carefully selected families based on criteria ranging from the comfort of the accommodation to the composition and moral values of the members. For families living more than a 30-minute walk from the school, daily transportation is provided by IELS to take the students to and from school.
The "Club" residence in Bugibba (summer only) is located in the heart of the neighborhood with the same name, a friendly and pleasant area just a few minutes' walk from the beach. The students stay in four-bedded rooms with en-suite bathrooms and air conditioning. They enjoy the comfort of the residence, including the pool and beautiful adjacent relaxation areas. Daily transportation is organized by IELS to take the students to the English school and bring them back after classes.
The "City" Bay View Apartments residence (summer only) is located in the center of Sliema, right on the waterfront, offering breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea. It is the ideal solution for those who want to minimize travel time, as the school is only 200 meters away. The students stay in triple or quadruple rooms with en-suite bathrooms, balconies, and air conditioning. They also have access to a game and TV room.
Located off the coast of Sicily, in the warm waters of the Mediterranean, is the island of Malta, the largest of the Maltese archipelago and a little piece of paradise bathed in sunshine and surrounded by long sandy beaches. On the east coast of the island, the typical town of Sliema, a former fishing port transformed into a seaside resort, reveals itself through its winding streets and eclectic architecture, bearing witness to 7,000 years of history. Under the omnipresent sun, visitors to Malta experience life at the rhythm of Mediterranean countries and enjoy a lively and festive lifestyle characteristic of this privileged part of the world.
A team member greets participants upon their arrival at Malta Airport. This transfer, as well as the return transfer, is included in the price of the stay.
