If you are looking for an exciting destination for your language stay, why not choose Spain, specifically the Costa Brava region? Las Chapas is a municipality and seaside resort located approximately 70 km from the capital Madrid and only 8 km from Marbella. It is an ideal destination for teenagers looking to improve their Spanish and enjoy the many leisure activities, attractions, and beautiful beaches that this region offers. Surfing enthusiasts or those who simply love swimming can have unforgettable moments here.
Our partner school offers the "Nature" junior program, which takes place in Marbella Las Chapas on the beautiful campus of Colegio Alboran. Campers have access to a wide variety of basketball and handball courts, tennis courts, playgrounds, a climbing wall, spacious green areas, a horse riding school, a swimming pool, a football field, and bright classrooms. It is located just a few kilometers from the city of Marbella, in a breathtaking natural park surrounded by a magnificent garden, less than a 15-minute walk from the beach and amidst green hills. The capacity is 220 students, with 60% being Spanish youth and 40% from other countries.
The program consists of 20 Spanish lessons of 45 minutes each per week, totaling 15 hours. The classes take place from Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 12:30 pm (4 lessons per day). The course program is designed to promote communication skills. Students will have the opportunity to practice what they have learned in class with their international peers outside of the classroom. The classes are held in small groups, with an average of 8 students per class and a maximum of 15. They are taught by a team of qualified and experienced teachers who use a wide range of teaching techniques and innovative activities tailored to each age group and learning style. The course content, materials, and methodology are adapted to the setting and atmosphere of the summer camp. The teaching methodology is primarily based on a communicative approach that covers fundamental aspects of the language, including grammar, speaking, listening, vocabulary, pronunciation, and writing. On the first day of camp, students will take a level test and then be grouped according to their language proficiency. There are 6 levels of Spanish offered, ranging from beginner to advanced. Spanish and international students are separated during the morning classes and come together for the rest of the day. Each student will receive a certificate and a detailed evaluation on the last day of camp.
Excursions are organized, including at least one full-day excursion and two half-day excursions for each two-week period, to nearby points of interest. These excursions are a great way to introduce students to the rich diversity of Spanish culture, food, and geography and make the most of the special attractions around each city visited during the camp. Full-day excursions include Seville, Granada, La Alhambra, Tarifa, Ronda, Malaga, Torremolinos, Aquamijas, Parque de la Batería, and Torremolinos, Bioparc + Fuengirola beach, Malaga and Malagueta beach, etc. Half-day excursions include visits to the city of Marbella, water parks, Aventura Amazonia, Bioparc, Puerto Banus, etc. Students will explore the lively old towns of Seville and Granada, discover the entertainment and attractions of Puerto Banus, and see the neighboring mountain ranges.
The accommodation is located in the heart of the university campus. Living in the residences allows for total immersion in an international and multicultural environment that promotes language practice outside the classrooms. Spanish and international students participate together in sports and cultural activities. They also share rooms, which are separated by age and gender. The number of beds per room depends on availability. Campers sleep in rooms with 6-12 people, all equipped with bunk beds, closets, and air conditioning. To introduce young students to Spanish gastronomy, meals will mainly consist of Spanish and Mediterranean products. Meals are served at Spanish meal times, with a light breakfast, lunch around 2 pm, a snack, and dinner.
The school organizes transfers from Malaga Airport, which is approximately a 40-minute drive from Alboran Las Chapas campus. Transfer service between the residence and the airport at the end of the stay is also provided. These services are offered at an additional cost.
