This is exactly what the American Companion Program (ACP) offers: an exclusive educational initiative designed for teenagers eager to explore the American school system from the inside, while living a total immersion in the culture of the United States.
Located near the beautiful city of San Diego, known for its idyllic beaches, year-round sunny climate, and cultural melting pot, this program gives young people from all over the world the opportunity to experience the daily life of an American high school student. Through sessions spread over the year, participants will not only attend classes but also share the daily life of an American student, thanks to an international buddy system.
ACP is not just an educational adventure; it is a cultural bridge. Each international student will have an American buddy, fostering an authentic and enriching exchange. From Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, participants will live the daily life of a local American school, sharing books, course materials, and experiences. Learning goes beyond the classroom, extending to the host families' homes who open their doors to share their daily lives, offering three meals a day and taking care of transportation to and from school. These families also provide guardianship for the duration of the stay, ensuring a safe and immersive experience.
San Diego and its surroundings, with its picturesque setting and rich culture, becomes the outdoor campus for our participants. The region not only offers a beautiful backdrop with its beaches and ideal climate, but it is also a melting pot of diversity and learning opportunities.
However, the ACP adventure is not limited to learning and discovery. It also represents a commitment to educational excellence. Participants will have the opportunity to attend renowned schools within the Sweetwater Union High School District, the largest secondary school district in California. With a graduation rate of 91% and a majority of schools recognized for excellence (Gold Ribbon Schools, California Distinguished Schools), this district is the perfect environment to thrive academically and personally.
Regarding the fees, the program is structured with transparency: travel and medical insurance, airfare, extra meals, school supplies, personal expenses, optional school event fees, purchasing a personal computer if required by the school, and uniforms (between $100 and $300) are not included in the program price. In addition, fees may apply for COVID-19 tests, transportation to and from the airport, as well as a non-refundable deposit for host family accommodation for programs longer than 4 weeks.
The rates are set to make this exceptional experience accessible to as many people as possible, with a weekly cost varying depending on the duration of the stay, ensuring that each participant receives not only a quality education but also an unforgettable life experience.
Enrollment in the program requires an initial deposit, followed by full payment of the fees before arrival, with clearly defined conditions to ensure smooth and secure organization.
