For over 20 years, the Linguaviva center in Lignano has been welcoming young people from around the world in a stunning setting between the azure blue sea and lush green pine forest. This magnificent environment allows for some classes to be held in the shade and coolness of the pine grove. The center is located in the residential village of Adriatico and has all the facilities and amenities for an exciting stay. Among these are basketball, volleyball, and football courts, tennis courts, a swimming pool, and a private beach. Additionally, a doctor is available 24/7 at the center's infirmary.
Every afternoon and during weekends, Linguaviva School offers a diverse leisure program for teenagers on a language stay, in addition to seaside water activities and natural beach games.
Volleyball, football, tennis, handball, swimming, writing articles for the school magazine, cooking workshops, Italian songs, evening walks in the city, disco nights, or beach games will be part of the daily routine for young students during the afternoons, breaks, or after class and on weekends. Moreover, each week, a day trip is organized for teenagers to explore nearby cities such as Venice, Trieste, Verona, or a theme park.
During summer, Linguaviva School sets up its classrooms outdoors and offers participants 20 Italian lessons per week, spread over five mornings from Monday to Saturday. Afternoons and evenings are filled with sports and leisure activities, including volleyball, football, tennis, handball, swimming, writing articles for the school magazine, cooking workshops, Italian songs, evening walks in the city, disco nights, or beach games. Additionally, one day per week, an excursion takes the young students to discover a nearby city: Venice, Trieste, Verona, or a theme park.
During the activities, the young students are divided into age groups, and the supervision is adapted:
12-14 years: The youngest students are supervised throughout the day by a chaperone.
15-16 years: They are accompanied for all city outings but are free to move within the center's premises as they please.
17-18 years: The older students enjoy more freedom, and activities are tailored to their interests. During classes, participants are grouped based on their Italian language level, not their age.
Part of the Linguaviva School is reserved for the accommodation of teenagers in rooms with two, three, or four beds and attached bathrooms. Rooms are assigned to young students based on their age and native language to avoid grouping French speakers and encourage international mixity for better language immersion. With full board accommodation, all meals are included and are taken at the center. Packed lunches are provided to students on excursion days.
